Sanjay Duty - Sigh of Relief from TADA

Mumbai, November 28: A special TADA court held actor Sanjay Dutt guilty under the Arms Act for possessing weapons but acquitted him of terrorism and conspiracy charges in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Later, the TADA court extended bail of actor Sanjay Dutt, and asked him to surrender on December 19. "During my reasoning I have not found him (Sanjay) to be a terrorist," Judge P D Kode said in the open court. The actor was not found guilty of charges under the Terrorist And Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act or conspiracy charges under the TADA. Following a plea from their lawyers, Judge P D Kode asked them to file bail applications that would be considered. Talking to a news channel, Sanjay's sister and MP Priya Dutt had said that the family would move the Bombay High Court for bail in case the TADA court denied it. "Since the conviction is only under the Arms Act, it will be High Court (where we will move the bail plea)," she said.
