Comedy Of Confusion. A common motive: a diamond robbery in this case.

The movie, directed by choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan, belongs to the same genre as Neeraj Vora’s Phir Hera Pheri .

At the centre of the movie’s story is a diamond that is stolen in Mumbai by Rocky (Chunkey Pandey) and smuggled to Dubai to be sold to Lalvani (Asrani), who is the partner of Rocky’s uncle Choksey (Gulshan Grover), a London-based don.

On the other hand, Rajaa (Shahid Kapur), his girlfriend Tina (Ayesha Takia) and her uncle Choubey (Paresh Rawal) are small time thieves. They are approached by a Dubai-based don called Moscow Chikna (Arbaaz Khan) to steal the diamond from Rocky.

Parallel to this is another plot revolving around Luckee (Vivek Oberoi) who runs a fight club in Dubai on behalf of another don. Enters Munna (Sunny Deol), a muscle-flexing do-gooder who saves a damsel in distress and thrashes the fighters in the fight club.

The story takes a spin when the diamond is stolen yet again. Confusion reigns supreme as all the characters try to keep the trail of the elusive stone.

The music, by Himesh Reshammiya, is strictly okay. The cinematography is good.

Ahmed Khan hardly tries anything new in ‘Fool And Final’. He opts for the comedy of errors (or confusion) created by the movie’s overcrowded cast, and peppers it up with some gritty action sequences involving Shahid Kapur (riding the BMX bike) and Sunny Deol (punching his fists of fury).

Only Paresh Rawal and Shahid Kapur manage to do some comedy convincingly. Arbaaz Khan hams, Sunny Deol is stiff and uptight, while Vivek Oberoi is loose in his expressions. Ayesha Takia is eye-candy (for obvious reasons) and performs fine enough. Sameera Reddy is hardly there. The same goes for talented actors like Sharmila Tagore and Om Puri. Johnny Lever (as cabbie) is over-the-top. Jackie Shroff is wasted.

‘Fool And Final’ tries to provide every form of cinematic entertainment in its running time. And that is its major flaw.

Stories unfold, time passes, the two strangers start enjoying each other. That Alvira is a Pakistani Brit and Rikki originally from India... that Rikki is crooked, earthy, and rakish: dabbler in various businesses; that Alvira is prim-n-proper, wannabe blue-blood, stiff upper-lip: Asst. Manager at House of Fraser’s... none of these details matter. They have gotten alarmingly attracted to each other!

Their brief encounter has created a complicated quadrangle... Rikki Thukral and Alvira Khan have gotten themselves and Steve and Anaida into a lovely mess... To get out of it both of them bend over backward, thinking quickly on their feet, dancing around each other’s emotions... After all when you’re playing musical chairs with love, there’s nothing you can do but... Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (Dance Baby Dance)!

Amitabh Bachchan, the lead actor, is brilliant throughout. The man puts across the character with ease and the acting natural. From the beginning to the end, he holds on to your mind with his enchanting expressions and mind-blowing performance. He emerges as a true winner. Tabu matches up to Big b throughout the movie. She is the best suit for a 34yr old young and beautiful looking woman and she has done a splendid job. Paresh Rawal enters the screen only in the second half of the movie. He excels in his out-and-out comic role as usual. Zohra Sehgal is full of energy and charm throughout the movie. Swini Khara, who is called sexy in the movie, is adorable and it's through her that we learn about some realities of life and also get introduced to other personality of Buddhadev.

CANNES, France — Aishwarya Rai is a household name in many countries. Now the Bollywood actress, who married fellow film star Abhishek Bachchan last month, is getting used to a new moniker.

"This is the first travel where people start calling you, 'Hello Mrs. Bachchan, good evening,'" Rai told AP Television News on Wednesday.

"I've maybe done a double take at times, but pleasantly so, it makes us smile, so it's been good," she said.

Rai, 33, a former Miss World, interrupted her honeymoon for a visit to the Cannes Film Festival. She is at the French Riviera resort as part of the team of models for cosmetics company L'Oreal.

She was in the audience — and on the red carpet — for Wednesday's opening-night festival screening of Wong Kar-wai's "My Blueberry Nights."

Once she is back in India, Rai said she will continue work on her latest film, the 16th-century royal love story Jodha-Akbar.

Her screen credits include 2004's Bride & Prejudice, directed by Gurinder Chadha.

Uma Thurman will act in Vishal Bhardwaj's next film. Now, this is a crossover film in the real sense of the term. Ronnie Screwvala is all set to make a film that will have Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman in the lead. And who will play the hero opposite her? None other than Hrithik Roshan!

Vishal Bhardwaj will direct this Hollywood-meets-Bollywood project. The film is set in 1943 Burma during the Second World War when Indian soldiers were fighting for the British against Japan. Apparently, Uma has already been approached for the role and is thinking about the project. Says our source, "While the initial moves have been made, the cast is yet to be finalised." While Vishal will be directing the project, the film will be co-written by Vishal and writer-director Matthew Robbins (Batteries Not Included). A number of international technicians will also be involved in this film. "Yes, Vishal is doing this movie, though he is yet to start work on it. The cast is also being finalised," reveals Vishal's publicist Poonam Sahai. However, Ronnie is at pains to keep this project under wraps as of now. "Yes, we are doing a movie with Vishal. But that is all I can say as of now. A lot of things need to be finalised before we make public announcement," says producer Siddarth Roy Kapoor.

While hosting the Cricket World Cup 2007 Finals on Set MAX with Charu Sharma, Mandira Bedi was seen wearing a saree which had national flags of all the countries which participated in the tournament. As seen Mandira was seen wearing a sari, which had an image of the Indian Tricolour below her waist, which was against the constitutional norm. Mandira's sari on the occasion had images of national flags of all the cricket-playing nations printed on it. But the image of the Indian Tricolour was in a rather disrespectfulposition. The Indian Government had cleared wearing of images of the Indian Tricolour on clothing in 2005 following a raging debate over the provision of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, according to which using the Indian national flag as a drapery in any form except in state funerals was a crime. The restrctions were eased after a legal fight by industrialist and Congress party MP Naveen Jindal, demanding that all Indians and institutions be allowed to fly the national flag respectfully. After the Supreme Court ruled in favour of Jindal in 2001, the Government brought in an amendment in the Act in 2005. However, even that amendment made it clear that the flag can only be displayed on garments above the waist. As per the order, caps and T-shirts are in, but swimsuits and evening gowns are still a no-no. The flag can not be embroidered or printed even on cushion covers, gloves, handkerchiefs, napkins and dress material. Mandira has worn garment with Indian tricolor on previous occasions but it was well above the waist.

A Jaipur court issued an arrest warrant on Thursday against Hollywood actress actor Richard Gere and summoned Shilpa Shetty for appearance on May 5.

The court observed that their public kiss was "highly sexually erotic".

Dinesh Gupta, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jaipur city, issued the order on a PIL filed by Poonam Chand Bhandari, an advocate-resident in Jaipur.

Bhandari had complained that their public kiss during an anti-AIDS awareness programme in Delhi was an "indecent representation" of sexual activities in a public place.

He demanded action against them under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code.

The CJM, who viewed the video footage of the programme, observed that the attitude of the two film personalities was "highly sexually erotic" which had "transgressed all limits of vulgarity and have the tendency to corrupt the society".

He said Shetty's attitude was "cooperative" and she never restrained herself but kept inviting Gere for the kissing episode, which stretched on for a good while.

The court felt that Shetty was equally involved in an action that was impermissible under the Indian laws and which "denigrated" Indian culture, tradition and social values.

"Therefore, she is an accused under Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code," it observed.

It directed the SP (Headquarters), Jaipur, that since Gere was a foreigner and could leave India he should be arrested at the earliest, and a warrant served on him.

A Metropolitan magistrate in Mumbai was requested to serve the summons on Shetty. Richard Gere has already left India.

Black Friday, a blow by blow account of the Mumbai bomb blasts of 1993 makes it to the screen.

The timing is just right--- the blast accused have been convicted / released as the case may be.

Based on S Hussain Zaidi’s book, Anurag Kashyap makes a thorough and very long film on the planning and implementation of the blasts and then the cops steady unraveling of the conspiracy. The people are real Dawood Ibrahim (Vijay Maurya stark resemblance), Tiger Memon (Pawan Malhotra), Badshah Khan (Aditya Shrivastava), cop Rakesh Maria (Kay Kay Menon) and the dozens of others on both sides of the law, whom Kashyap chases down in meticulous detail.

But what is interesting in a book, need not be so in a film Black Friday is a fabulously crafted and superbly enacted film, but not stark enough to be documentary and not fictional enough to be a feature.

His grip on Mumbai’s lifestyle and language is remarkable, but the director Kashyap makes the film with a detached air this is what happened, this is how it happened, now step back and watch without intervention. A story like that, told in such a clinical manner, without taking a humanistic stand is unsettling. It almost seems to justify Memon’s theory that unless the Muslims took revenge for the post-Babri Masjid riots, they would never be able to look the Hindu majority in the eye. Typically, in the media coverage of the blast cases as well the film, the sensational aspect of the event is so strong that the victims are almost forgotten.

But this movie is a hit and has earned at the box office

The Movie: Ever day scores of people go past multitudes of Traffic Signal's scattered all over the city. People sitting in their vehicles impatiently wait to get going. Though this waiting lasts but a few minutes it feels like a lifetime to them. However unknown to them there thrives an industry that derives its livelihood from these people waiting at the Traffic Signals. The work force of this industry is not less than that of an average sized multinational. It comprises of a gamut of people thrown in together by fate or hunger. There are oddities to the likes of eunuchs, handicapped and impaired beggars, lepers, street kids, drug addicts, and prostitutes, vendors selling flowers, fruits, sunscreens to sunglasses. Yet it doesn't end there. There is an intriguing world lurking behind all the poverty seen at these traffic signals. Each signal is said to have a manager who collects a certain percentage of the day's revenue from each of those working at the signal. The pecking order broadens further and each manager is supposed to hand over his weekly collection to the person who is in charge of the region that covers a dozen or more signals. The ladder is raised in its hierarchy and the collector of each region deposits the money with the local Mafioso, (a local king pin) who then ensures that it reaches offshore to his master. Traffic Signal is a story of one such signal, which is representative of all other signals around the city. Silsila a young orphan, who was born and who took his first tiny step at the signal is now its manager. For him the Signal is his workplace and a home where he lived. He's a sensitive soul with a heart of gold who considers the people like his family. He loves all those working at the signal, which in a way is his family but would spare nobody when it comes to business. He has a mentor, named Jaffar, who also is the collector of his region. Both he and Jaffar work for the local Mafioso, Haji and would even lay down their lives for him. Inherent in the social structure, lies a nexus between the local Mafia and Politicians, though at that level Silsila is almost nonexistent. Yet by a force of circumstance Silsila gets drawn into the bigger game and finds himself to be responsible for the annihilation of his own world, something to which he's dedicated his life. His deeds are irreversible and he would most certainly not be able to get things back to normal.
What would Silsila do in such a situation? Someone who had never hurt anybody in his lifetime. A person with a heart of gold who was left to fend for himself and the future of those who'd been devastated because of him. Silsila being a practical person knows that he can never take on Haji who is too powerful and way beyond him. Yet no matter what and how he has to get his life and the lives of his family at the Traffic Signal back on track how he gets around to do it is the summing up of the film Traffic Signal.

The whole movie was shot in 90 days in a studio especially built (back drop was The fort area of Mumbai etc). This studio was built at Karjat.

Sensational Shilpa Shetty has been crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother after polling 67% of the final vote.

Shilpa Shetty comes under racist attack in UK TV show

London, Jan 16 Bollywood actress, Shilpa Shetty, participating in UK’s popular reality TV show ‘Celebrity Big Brother,’ is allegedly the target of racist attacks by fellow contestants, some of whom called her a “dog” and drove her to tears, prompting producers of the show to probe the matter.
UK’s media watchdog Ofcom received 2,000 complaints from viewers about the series since it began early this month, with the majority being about how Shilpa’s housemates treated her.
The watchdog is investigating the complaints.
Shilpa, one of the nine celebrities taking part in the reality show, is being targetted by some housemates because she is Indian, according to the complaints.
The contestants have been locked up in a house since January2 and are being filmed on how well they handle the frictions of daily life and get their fellow housemates’ votes of confidence.
The flurry of complaints was triggered by a row shortly after Friday’s live eviction show, where the Bollywood star was allegedly called a “dog” by contestant Danielle Lloyd.
Viewers believe that Shilpa was targetted by Jade Goody, a previous contestant on the non-celebrity version of the show, whose gaffe-prone persona turned her into tabloid star.
Goody has said Shilpa “makes my skin crawl”, while Lloyd, a former beauty queen, allegedly called her “a dog.”
Jo O’Meara, another contestant, refused to eat a chicken dish prepared by Shilpa because she claimed it was too spicy and undercooked, making the Bollywood beauty burst into tears.
“We are investigating these complaints and if we find there was a case to be had, we would speak to Channel 4 about it,” an Ofcom spokeswoman said.
Channel 4 said: “We do not tolerate bullying or racism in any form.” Big Brother is Channel 4’s most popular show.
‘Jackson Five’ star Jermaine Jackson consoled Shilpa by quoting his brother Michael’s hit ‘Man in The Mirror.’ “They need to look in the mirror before they can make that charge,” he told her.
But Channel 4 has described the situation as “girly rivalry”. Goody’s mother Jackiey more than once referred to Shilpa as “the Indian” while she was on the show and could not pronounce her name. Shilpa’s accent was also allegedly ridiculed by Lloyd and O’Meara.

Shilpa Shetty as she became the first Bollywood actress to enter the now famous portals of the Big Brother house – the mother of all reality shows.
Dressed in a green saree and decked out in full Bollywood glamour, Shilpa braved the cold gusty winds as she walked down the red carpet stopping to wave at the pack of news photographers and a crowd of Big Brother fans who had no idea who she was.
When asked by the anchor Davina McCall what she hoped to get out of her experience from Big Brother, Shilpa replied "I want to clear out the misconception of Indian people. We are modern, intelligent and glamorous. I want all of India to be proud of me".
But many people are wondering if joining the Big Brother house is the best way to showcase India and what is a Bollywood star doing in a reality show which only lures 'has-beens' and 'wannabes' from the British and American celebrity world.
Russell Brand, the compere of the irreverential spin off show Big Brother's Big Mouth articulated the reply that everyone is thinking. "This is her chance to show herself to a western audience".
Shilpa has reportedly been paid £300,000 to live in the 'fish bowl' where cameras watch and telecast live every movement made by the celebrities for just under a month, but Big Brother has not confirmed the amount and it is believed that this year the highest fee paid has been no more than £65,000.
Ten other stars who entered the house with Shilpa on Wednesday night were discarded pop stars, long forgotten actors, a film director and a Wag.
Like Shilpa, the other two members of the motley group whose presence people were surprised by were 52 year-old Jermaine Jackson, elder brother of pop idol Michael Jackson, and a member of the now defunct Jackson Five, and British film director Ken Russell.
"What are these three doing in the house. They don't need the money and are much bigger than the other so-called celebrities there. If I was Shilpa I would shoot my agent for getting me into this without finding out enough about the programme," said Sangita Shah, a viewer of Big Brother and Hindi films.
Big Brother was the first ever reality show — created seven years – cashing in on voyeurism and received a huge following.
Over the years the celebrity status of stars who agree to enter the house has declined, and the raunchy tasks they are expected to perform and the negative publicity that they receive has put off many from joining.
"The only thing I really hope to keep is my self-respect and my dignity," said a worried Shilpa before she entered house.

Bhagam Bhag Movie Review
The Bhagam Bhag story’s central characters try to outsmart each other, but wind up in a situation where they are hunted by a number of other over-the-top characters. There are mistaken identities, a murder, an underhand plot, chao and commotion. The film’s crazy plot, filled with comic chaos and confusion, is its main story.
In the movie, Champak (Paresh Rawal) owns and runs a theatre group in India. Bunty (Akshay Kumar) and Babla (Govinda) are two of the many actors who work in it. Both are naughty guys who are on the run behind girls. Because of their misbehavior, the main heroine of their group (Tanushree Datta) opts out of the theatre. On the other hand, an organizer (Asrani) offers Champak to perform various shows in London.
Champak and his group reach London and they start finding a girl who would work in their shows in London. Bunty finds one girl, Munni (Lara Dutta). Bunty starts falling in love with Munni. But there is one problem-Munni suffers from amnesia and suicidal tendency and one day, she regains her memory and reveals that she is actually married to rich man in Liverpool, Vikram (Arbaaz Khan).
Bhagam Bhag has lots of nice and funny moments. The movie moves very fast. During the intermission point, you are fully entertained and you look forward for a great second half--a second half with lots of expectations. But in the second half, humour evaporates and its place is taken by murder mystery. The murder mystery sequence begins quite well. It was very clearly carried out and it was slightly shocking too. But later, you get a feeling that the mystery gets solved quickly and the movie should end fast
All said, ‘Bhagam Bhag’ is a good timepass flick. It offers nothing outstanding or extraordinary. It entertains you for three hours and leaves you with smiles.

KABUL EXPRESS may have released around a fortnight back and earned decent moolah at the box office, but the film's promotion has not yet lost it's steam.
While it is a known fact that the film doesn't have any songs in the narrative, a promotional music video for 'Kabul Fiza' starring Arshad Warsi and John Abraham was aired on music channels few weeks back. This was followed by album's best song 'Banjar' which was used as a background piece in and around the scenes from the film.
Now the latest on the promotional front is the music video of the song 'Keh Raha Mera Dil' that stars KABUL EXPRESS' composer/singer Raghav Sachar in it. A song about listening to your heart, it maintains its Indian feel throughout with some good lyrics by Aditya Dhar. Melodious with a catchy feel to it, 'Keh Raha Mera Dil' is a beautiful number that has been shot quite well too.

Even after thirty two years of its release, Ramesh Sippy's Sholay seems to be the inspiration for many filmmakers. After Ram Gopal Varma announced his intentions to start work on the remake of Sholay, producer Ektaa Kapoor announced a Bhojpuri Sholay. Now Ajay Chandok, who has just finished Nehle Pe Dehla with Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu, has also started work on his film titled Phir Sholay. The news is that film stars Arbaaz Khan, Javed Jaffrey, Aashish Chowdhary and Akshay Kapoor are in lead roles.
However, the director is not to revealing anything further. Incidentally Ektaa's film, which is directed by Mahesh Pande, is focused on Gabbar Singh while Ram Gopal Varma's Sholay is the modern version of the classic where Amitabh Bachchan plays Gabbar Singh while Ajay Devgan plays Veeru. Why the hell a big deal is being made out of a mere kiss? Especially when the kiss in question has been shot aesthetically and is a beautiful romantic moment in the film. Now, the Ash-Hrithik kiss in ‘Dhoom 2’ has invited a court case. A publicity hungry advocate Shailendra Dwivedi finds it ‘obscene’ and has filed a case in the court of judicial magistrate first class R K Batham in Indore under Sections 292 (vulgarity) and 509 (derogatory to women) of the Indian Penal Code. This I find it a mere publicity stunt.
According to the complainant, the women felt offended after watching the scene and it promoted vulgarity in society, especially among the youth. The court has fixed December 11 for recording evidence. Earlier it was alleged that the Bachchans were upset with Aishwarya for losing her inhibitions. But this public tamasha has gone a bit too far. Apparently advocate Shailendra Dwivedi has earlier filed such complaints against other film stars as well with the sole intention of becoming famous. It goes without saying that with all the news channels showing his bytes, the man is famous already and can also provoke a few heated debates on television soon.
Hypothetically speaking if the court finds Aishwarya and Hrithik guilty and sentences them to jail, then in that case kissing queen Mallika Sherawat would be sentenced for life…Oh these kissing woes…. I think the producer or the director should sue the advocate if the decision goes against the advocate. He should be penalised heavily. This will be a lesson to others

Sanjay Duty - Sigh of Relief from TADA

Mumbai, November 28: A special TADA court held actor Sanjay Dutt guilty under the Arms Act for possessing weapons but acquitted him of terrorism and conspiracy charges in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts. Later, the TADA court extended bail of actor Sanjay Dutt, and asked him to surrender on December 19. "During my reasoning I have not found him (Sanjay) to be a terrorist," Judge P D Kode said in the open court. The actor was not found guilty of charges under the Terrorist And Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act or conspiracy charges under the TADA. Following a plea from their lawyers, Judge P D Kode asked them to file bail applications that would be considered. Talking to a news channel, Sanjay's sister and MP Priya Dutt had said that the family would move the Bombay High Court for bail in case the TADA court denied it. "Since the conviction is only under the Arms Act, it will be High Court (where we will move the bail plea)," she said. Sanjay Dutt has heaved a sigh of relief at least fro the TADA (Terroist And Distruptive Act)
